Meet the Designer & Founder...Finally, an Intro

Hello everyone!  It's Leslie, the designer/founder of Lucky Jade.  It's our first blog post so I wanted to take the time to introduce myself to you so we can get to know one other.  

Here's some quick background on me... I'm a fashion veteran with my roots in Womens.  I was raised in LA with parents in the fashion business, so it's in my blood.  I'm a mom of two: a teenage girl, and seven year old son... and yes, there's probably a story there I'll never tell you.  So, like many of you with kids and the many that are working too, I have a pretty crazy life that I woudn't trade for anything.  

Lucky Jade was incubated when I was pregnant with my daughter and felt the world lacked beautiful nursery decor. Thank goodness my mom is a talented interior designer (I'm obsessed as you will see more of that soon) and we put together a beautiful nursery.  But, there was a still a void in the market for beautiful blankets so I decided to create some.  I was working with Cashmere at my women's job at the time so my first ever Lucky Jade blankets were luxurious 100% Cashmere.  The designs were pretty classic and even included dots, which has always been one of my favorite things.  

Some other things I love that you will see more and more of as you follow along on our feeds @luckyjadekids , @ljk5_ , and @dreamcalidesign are my fluffy golden retriever Crosby, tons of dots in my wardrobe, lots of art that stems from our artist collaboration (LJK5), vintage dresses, shoes, and tacos.  I love tacos!!! Many of our themes we use on our designs are vintage inspired.  I love mid-century modern animals which you will see on the Cashmere/Cotton, floral patterns reflected in the dresses, and pop art which will appear soon in our new swingy knit dresses (stay tuned).
